Cheat Engine

I'm trying to use cheat engine 6 on a facebook game called Typing Maniac. I've tried slowing down the game via the normal "enable speedhack" and then changing it to ".1" though all that does is lower the frame rates, but not the speed of the game. Basically, these words are falling from the top and you have to type in the words. When I'm using cheat engine, the words will briefly pause, though then they will "jump" to where they would have been at that moment if I wasn't using cheat engine.

Any ideas guys?

Edit: I have tried Cheat Engine 5.5 and 6 and they both produced the same result...

If the game calculates time using time differences, speed hack does nothing.

Yes, I'm doing the right process. Both firefox and plugin-container keep doing the same thing. Not sure why.

And you don't need internet to play, I don't think. I tried it anyways with disconnecting from the internet via cmd and typing "ipconfig /release" when the game started then applying the speedhack from CE, though it still produced the same results.
