In web design\programming? I mean in theory of course, I don't actually want to pick up PHP, Ajax, HTML all over again.

Design? No clue, I'm terrible at design. I suppose a fun subject I worked with is hibernate, and reflection in Java. With hibernate you use objects to access your database data. In combination with reflection you can do some interesting stuff with it. For instance, I had a project with these two components in which I used reflection to create search engines based on the given class, since you can get all of the class data with reflection. If the class or object you pass is a DAO from hibernate, you can easily create search machines.

Something like this?

As to what you talked about, I suppose it works. I've just been looking at things like machine learning, algorithms complexity, etc. Things I can reapply to different programming languages I learn.
