Speculation on your part as to whether he only buys for close friend. No, I'm not. No harm in asking for something anyway in case he's feeling generous.

Fair enough, I'm just not used to you asking for things, I would have thought you'd be one to scold someone for "begging", (you actually only asked nicely, once, so it's not begging.)
