I was looking through konr's inspiration thread, and this caught my eye. I sort of want to make something like it.

The filename is "mobscenesigv3", and that name rings a bell but I don't know who it is now.

So how is it done? If anyone can give me a pointer towards that style, that would be awesome.

On cef, mobscene is DURAN but im sure he didn't made that.
Anyway, search for some abstract tuts.

That's a pentooled guy fawks mask, lots of pentooling black lines, lots of pentooling areas and then putting gradients on them (one sided white ones with lowered opacity) and a couple C4Ds with clipping masks on them. At least that's how I'd go about making it.
