My computer dont get internet no moer. NIC doesn't blink at all and in the computer it says that cable is not inserted. I have tried many cables with the same result. The router doesn't have a steady blink instead it just blinks for s short amount of time every 5 or 10 secs.

The computer has been returned twice and the first time the MB got replaced. (second time they said they didn't really find a problem)

I have reinstalled drivers, windows and nothing seems to help.

The NIC is inbuilt in the MB.

Also I bough another PCI NIC but the computer didn't even detect it at all.

I tried to reseat it and so on and I can't get that to work eighter.

This is really great.

In your boards BiOS try disabling the on-board NIC, reboot. Shut down, install the PCI NIC. If that doesn't work remove the PCI NIC and try to re-enable the on-board NIC.

I have a computer with a built in NIC that will work fine a few weeks then flakes out and stops working. I have a secondary PCI NIC in the pc as well for when it flakes out. What make/model is the PCI NIC? What OS are you running, assuming it is Win 7. You could also try an older NIC if you can find it. For that I suggest either a brick and mortar PC store or a thrift store, can usually pick up an old pc from there for less than $50.
