So I just hooked my moms computer back up, with internet and everything. She doesn't really use it much, and I would like to use it to host my minecraft server. It will have nothing running in the background except for the server and will be on a nearly clean HD.
So, here are the specs
Pentium 4, 2.7 GHZ
Windows XP professional SP3 (Pirated)
some kind of integrated GFX card... Cannot be assed to check
And here's where it literally goes to shit town
256 MB of ram :/
I plan on updating the ram to at least 1GB, but as a simple web surfing machine it works fine as is.
do you guys think it's enough to run a dedicated minecraft server?

| If you want nothing running in the background, then use linux. Windows is so fucking bloated. The only reason I don't use linux for day-to-day things is because it isn't user friendly. If you won't be using the comp. much, then just set it up on linux and let it run. You will get a metric shitton of extra speed and reliability.

Was thinking that. Tiny linux would run like a beast on here, but I'm not sure how my mom would react to a new operating system.
Eh, fuck it she's getting linux.
