Hey Guys, has anyone of you tried to hack ColinMcRae DIRT 2?
it seems that Dirt 2 uses a Debug-Protection
I start the game, then CE.
After several seconds closes my game without any error.
I use this settings but nothing works ^^
Any Ideas?

Click on the "Use Global Debug routines" too and it will most likely work.

If it is closing without even attaching the debugger, then it is not a debugger protection. Maybe it is detecting CE itself and not the debugger. I didn't play the game so I don't know for sure.

isn't this game from codemasters like F1 2010 too? I own this game due to my graphics card, but haven't played it more than a very short time and never tried to make a trainer for it... maybe I should try in some free time in a few weeks... however, both games are using xlive and should have some additional protection like crashing when CE or other well known memory tools are open
there was a topic here for F1 2010 how to modify CE in a way to bypass this protection by using a hex editor and rename all "cheat" strings and so on... maybe you should try this

Yes, I thought the same. Probably the game is detecting if CE is running.
However just to make it clear for those who may read this topic, Xlive itself does not have anti-Cheat Engine protection. It is crashing if You attach the debugger (without the proper settings), but attaching CE to the game without the debugger and scanning in the memory is working perfectly.
Of course some games are recognizing Cheat Engine even if it is open in the background, but that is independent from Xlive. As CCJ39 also said, it is "some additional protection".
In fact, I have used CE on many Xlive games and I could even use the debugger with the proper settings. So those who may think that CE is totally useless on Xlive games are very wrong. The only major problem with Xlive that it is detecting code injection. Scanning in the memory and modifying values are working the same way as in any other games.
I hope this info is useful for those who are planning to cheat in an Xlive protected game.

Yes, Xlive is not the problem here...
DIRT 2 detects Cheat Engine, and this is the point.
I think i need a undetectet Cheat Engine...
What detect this game from CE?
Text strings & Window sizes?
renaming is not the Problem^^
Geri were right it closes after i open CE
here is my CE with some changed text strings into german:

never saw CE in german, but greeting from Germany
in F1 2010 the game was detecting each window which has the word "cheat" in it, so if you open a webbrowser in there was e.g. "luncheat" in the window name, the game also closes after a few seconds... if I remember right it was also possible no process has "cheat" in the exe-filename and maybe no running process is located in a directory (working directory / installation path) with "cheat" in name... in addition there was some other words like "tsearch" which causes the game to close!
