Cheat Engine

Hello:

Simply for educational purposes I have tried to change the gold amount in this game and have used all the basic approaches by multiplying the value by 8 and searching both in Firefox and Explorer and most of the time I do not get a value when I do it does not change when altering the gold amount.

I have very limited experience with programming. Some early BASIC and HTML as well as a day looking at progamming with C++. Suffice to say I am useless. I am curious if I would require a background in JAVA in order to further develop any kind of Hacking skill in these games?

If any solution can be suggested I would greatly appreciate it and if none is evident for this game please offer me some advice on where I could further re-educate myself.
