I have a 40" TV which is able to display 1080p. One of my PCs currently has a 9800GT 1GB which is able to display this perfectly. However I need to buy a similar card for my other PC so I can hook it up to watch films there.

Requirements of the new graphics card:
- Dual DVI ( 2 DVI slots, not just dual-link )
- Able to display 1080p ( 1920 x 1080 )

At the time of purchase, my graphics card cost me about £110. The new graphics card needs to be dual DVI and preferably will be cheaper. Anyone have any ideas ?

Almost any graphic card with 2x DVI outputs will handle HD resolutions (1920x1080)

Even onboards like them Intel integrated can handle 1080P.

That's not true. I used to have a 7900GS which was dual DVI. It would have trouble handling some 720p at times.

I got a GeForce 9600 GSO, but when I tried to watch Avatar in 720p on my 1280x1024 res monitor, it was getting choppy.

What gives?

So the current graphics card is NVIDIA Quadro FX 3450/4000 SDI. Would you say the same thing for this ?

Also the OS running at the time was Windows 7 where I believe hardware acceleration is turned on by default.

If you're going to 'contribute' something useless or give an unsubstantiated opinion where one wasn't asked of you then you're in the wrong thread.

If you need help, then I suggest you accept these criticism and ask a question in a professional manner where you will get more information, rather than posting that idiotic response.

Please accept my apologies kls85. I am in the wrong. Your post was clearly both professional and helpful. Those are certainly the first words that spring to my mind when I read it. Idiotic would of course, be the last word I would associate with you.
