It's decent for $300, but certainly not decent compared to the rest of what's out there. Convince them to spend $500 and build it yourself (it's easy) and you'll be able to double the performance of that PC.

The only reason it's not "powerful" enough is because of the weak graphic as the main purpose for a computer is to play games.
Otherwise this system is consider to be a power house on a budget.
As you get a
Quad Core- plenty of raw power to perform encoding, authoring, etc
Graphics- You don't need a Hd5970 or GTX 480 just to play HD content, a simple GPU like this will breeze through the job.
HDD: Lots of space to store precious memories and entertainment related media.
Note: The HDD they provided is a Seagate LP
LP is Seagate's version of a "Green" drive and it runs at 5900RPM
Price of this is not $300, but more towards $309
It's $299 if you manage to get that $10 rebate.

Nope. good luck on low settings. But honestly, are your parents playing mw2? I doubt it. So for them it's pretty okay.

Yes it will. Though the video card may be a bit weak sauce.

Thought you said it was for your parents, maybe I'm going bonkers. It's a pretty good deal, if you bought it and then got a new video card in the near future, that would work.

| Power supply seems to be on the weaker side though (I never trust OEMs), keep that in mind before upgrading anything major. I would also suggest getting a faster HDD and more memory.
