if time travel is real

why do people not come to whatever time it is right now?

what happens if you meet future-you, and you shoot future you?
then after a few years, you build a time machine and you realize you will be shot if you use it.

then you won't use it, will you?

but if future you was never shot, then that would change stuff in your life.

maybe in those few seconds of panic you killed this endangered species which also happens to be very invasive.

does that mean when you notice that you are going to be shot

thousands of bugs magically appear?

I'm guessing that if you shoot yourself, you will be sent on an endless loop. You also have no choice in whether or not you enter the time machine, because if you never entered it then you would never see future self.

Any time you see yourself from the future it means that you will eventually enter a time machine.

But that's on the premise of time being linear.
Which is on the premise of time even existing at all.

I think time travel is possible, but when you travel through time, you'd travel to a parallel universe in which you existed in the specified time that you wish to go to. At least that's the only way you would ever be able to time travel, because time is relevant.
