Two of my friends don't like eachother, right? Like they fucking hate eachother. One of them (friend 1) taught his brother the art of internet abuse and overuse of the word 'fag', which I find offensive. One night, The little brother was in the party on XBL with friend 2, and was doing the usual, calling us fags, said "HAY ZACH UR A WORD, IT'S F A G G O T. YOU'RE A FAGGOT." etc, him and his brother (friend 1) were sending messages to friend 2, abusive messages. I then said exactly this: "Please, Jacob, treat others how you want to be treated, and stop being so rude.". I also told him to stop being an idiot. Friend 2 called him a fag once, after being called it 20+ times. Then the little cunt started crying and left the party, and I got in shit for it. Friend 1, one of my best friends IRL joined the party and screamed at us, then left which was kinda immature and he wouldn't listen to reason at all.

I later found out that he had lied to his mum and said that I called him gay etc, and that apparently 'I wasn't the major contributing factor, but I didn't defend him enough' when there wasn't anything to fucking defend him from.

He's now apologising at 2am, I replied to him, and he doesn't understand that the parties won't connect and I don't know what to do. He's 10 years old, sheltered and spoilt fucking rotten btw, so consider him half retarded.

Yes but my relationships with my friends are pretty much unaffected by my relationship with their families.. Possible exception of gf. I think that's pretty normal too.

I don't understand. You seem to have this need of preserving some special relationship between your friend's family and yourself. Your friend is your friend, that's that. There is no need for you to be friends with his family also. Unless you hang around with retards you should be able to explain to your friend and that's that. Tell his parents to sort their kid out. Clearly this is an underlying problem with his upbringing rather than an isolated misunderstanding. You can't go fixing everyone's shit. This kid's been fucked up for 10 years, that's not something you change in an instant.
