VLC is screwing with my anime

Have you watched it before? Looks like bad encoding. Did you try the k-lite codecs?

Try using the latest VLC from the VLC ppa

Code:
sudo -i
add-apt-repository ppa:ferramroberto/vlc
apt-get update && apt-get install vlc

The encoding is fine, I've watched it before its doing this with all of my HD subs.

Just tried updating Noz, hope it works.

Why would it work, and then stop. Updating it does make sense, what doesn't is why it broke in the first place.

Because VLC has an old bug that screws with HD videos. (This is what I think)

You don't even know how tempted I am to look it up. I don't use VLC that much. K-Lite and MPC, if they can't play it, I don't watch it.

Try... not using VLC.

If it works with other media players, it's a problem with VLC.
If it's the same problem, then you have a codec problem and should go download CCCP.

Besides, VLC is bad anyways.

It's VLC.. but I don't know of any other media players for Ubuntu.

MPlayer

Mplayer is a media player that runs on many operating systems including Ubuntu.
It plays most of the available formats including MPEG/VOB, AVI, Ogg/OGM, VIVO, ASF/WMA/WMV, QT/MOV/MP4, RealMedia,
Matroska, NUT, NuppelVideo, FLI, YUV4MPEG, FILM, RoQ, PVA files, supported by many native, XAnim, and Win32 DLL codecs.
You can watch VideoCD, SVCD, DVD, 3ivx, DivX 3/4/5, WMV and even H.264 movies.



To install MPlayer, just type the following command in the Terminal

audo apt-get install mplayer

Once its installed, you can find it in Applications > Sounds and Video > MPlayer Movie Player

Download MPlayer

VLC used to be good, but it's not as good as it used to be.
The whole thing went downhill once they change to the new interface.
