Most laptops get pretty hot, especially ones that powerful, I reckon it will be fine when I'm just using microsoft word in school but when I'm at home gaming I will be using a laptop cooler.

It's an i7 with 1,6 Ghz. Since most applications only use the first 2 Cores you're pretty fucked right there. If I were you I'd get an i5 or Core2Quad with at least 2,5 Ghz.
