Hello everyone, perhaps this doubt is stupid but, I have downloaded the cheat engine 5.6 not the 5.6.1 well the point is I downloaded it I open the file and looked everything and inside every file and I cannot find the .exe to open the program.

Could anyone tell me where the .exe is?

No, I downloaded it with the scan off and I opended the file with the scan off...

that's I am asking! when the .exe is?? I have not could install anything! because there is not any application, I have searched inside each file and nothing.

What did you download then? The source? The download on www.cheatengine.org is ONLY an exe file.

That is the 5.6.1 but anyway I have already downloaded that and I cannot use it, help? I open it and it gets freeze it just lasts like 4 seconds before it, I am using windows 7 64bits, I have tried with administrator compatibility, scan off scan on and so on and nothing, cheat engine does not work with my OS?

Well, it's the 5.6.1 you should use. (The other links are source, you should compile them first.)

Have you tried disabling User Account Control?

it seems the problem was that an on-line game was running at the background but.. I did not run any exe! just for the fact an on-line game is running cheat engine dies? the game is AION.

Yes, that's one of the protections online games take against CE.

If you want to hack games like AION, it's obviously not going to work.
I suggest you first get the hang of using CE with an easy, single player game, maybe some sort of platform rpg so you can hack stuff like health, speed, etc.
Then you may safely advance and try to find ways to bypass protections for online games.

But if I could kill the gameguard of the game, cheat engine would have the possibility to change the values?

That's the other problem. Once you manage to bypass the gameguard you can do what you want with CE.
BUT, remember CE only has access to memory on your computer. Online games usually store important variables (level, hp, mp, skill levels..) on the server, so there's no way to hack them (these variables are called server-sided). You still have access to anything the developers left to be stored by the client (IIRC, attack or movement speed could be hacked this way in Metin2).

If you plan to hack online games, i suggest you take a look at the program WPE Pro (check the tutorial section), which has a different hacking approach and can do different things than ce.

Still i suggest, don't throw yourself directly into mmorpg hacking or you will only get more and more confused.

Okay thank you very much for your help.

I had before cheat engine 4.0 and I used it a lot it helped me a lot with games but there were certains game that I could not hack like dragon age origin perhaps with this version I can .
