Hi all

Basically, I used to have the old CE 5.5, which worked fine. I used the simplest tools on it (Search for value, change value, search for value again, repeat until only a few addresses left etc.) and most of the time it was problem free.

Then something happened, and now all the usual things don't work, and with all the games I'm usually able to use CE on suddenly I can't anymore. It's the point where you've changed the value and clicked next scan, at that point i can never find the address (droids) I'm looking for.

I'm assuming I've probably just tampered with something I shouldn't have.
In any case I uninstalled all of my CE 5.5 files and downloaded the newest free version available (5.6.1). This of course did not make a difference.
Most of the time I play on Kongregate, if that matters.

I think you've probably figured out by now I'm a Cheat Engine n00b and I apologize for being unable to provide any more information. If anyone, has any idea what's gone wrong I would be very grateful for some sort of assistance and whatnot.

How about showing an example of a basic memory search you normally do. Pictures would help too.

Sorry for my bad English.
I have the same problem as The Serious Guy, but this way, "Yeah, You Should attach to the process," plugin-container.exe "Instead of firefox.exe." I do not work when I choose this process, "plugin-container.exe "Is just how I chose the process" firefox.exe "

Yea if you are using firefox you should attach plugin-container.exe instead of firefox.exe . If that still doesn't work try using a different web browser like Internet Explorer or Chrome. Lastly if every thing else fails try searching for a tutorial on youtube about how to cheat at the game just in case if you are doing something wrong because some game to cheat in them you have to multiply the value by 8. Sometimes the values are stored as "Double type" values, sometimes You may need to multiply it with 8 and in new games which has been written in AS3, You can easily find the values by simply searching for the exact value.

If You are not sure that You are doing things right, try this one:

Search for the money: You start with 400 money. Search for 400. Buy a tower, You will have 300 money. Next search for 300. You should have only one address now, change the value to something high, like 1000000 and buy something. You should have lots of money.

If You did not find it, You have messed up something, like You are targeting the wrong process etc.

Thanks a lot for all your help guys. Especially you Geri. I will definitely try plugin-container.exe. One thing I might note is that for some reason I never use the Firefox process like everyone else seems to do, and instead select windows list and pick out the game from there, it's usually named after the title of the web page (i.e Play Cursed Treasure: Don't touch my gems!, a free online game on Kongregate).
