Is it worth getting? Someone told me it actually runs hotter and louder than the original?
I am planning to buy one in a month. It will sit next to my PC, and be plugged into my screen, so I can play games at my desk like a true nerd.

| Not too sure about how loud it runs but it is hotter. But think of it this way, If the heat is on the outside it isn't on the inside. The main problem I have found with them is because it looks so awesome you want to keep fingerprint off it ^-^

I have a friend who owns one. It is definitely quieter.
Not too sure about if it's hotter as i wasn't feeling up his console... It looks cooler though.
Also, it's a console. Why would you even have fingerprints on it? Do you like rub your Xbox when you get a head shot or something? The only things i touch on my Xbox on a regular basis are the power button and the eject disc button...

Moving and such.
And it's lighter right? I want to carry it back in my luggage lol.
Anyway, I will have it next to my PC, and plug a VGA cable from the Xbox into one of my HD monitors. Then use my other for PC to control music/facebook and whatever I want (porn lol).
When I have friends over I will move it upstairs to my 42" HDTV.

If it's hot on the outside, that means it's even hotter inside.

It means it's allowing the heat to escape. It also cooled down a lot faster than the rest of our Xboxes (During a LAN party, yeah, we're cool)

No, that's not true.
Do you know anything about conduction? How about convection?
Common exceptions to your "Theory".
Like elpacco said; since heat is transferred in this case through conduction into the air, it's natural that the source of the heat is hotter than the air around it.

Well that must mean that the air around the fire is letting the heat escape from the fire, thus heating the air around it. So it's safe to thrust your hand directly into the fire, since it's not hot.
Sounds good to me.

Why didn't you notice the next part?
I'm just saying the case is thinner allowing the heat to escape and it also has more vents.

I'm just saying the case is thinner allowing the heat to escape and it also has more vents. | How the hell is the temperature when it's no longer on relevant at all? It seriously does not matter one single bit if it cools down in half a second. Regardless, you're still an idiot for thinking that it would be cooler on the inside than the outside.

If it's hot outside something (like maybe a fire, for example), that means it's cool on the inside, because it's letting the heat escape. Yep, that makes perfect sense.

I've heard the hard-drive was dangerous to take out, so if you bring it to your bros house, be careful.
Also, I've seen one in rl; it looks really... plastic :l
