In continuation of my request for guidance, I'm posting my results after a little messing around with some Cinema 4D renders and layers (+ stuff) and (poor?) lighting effect. Constructive commends and critique are encouraged!
RENDER USED
What should I fill the right half with? :/
v1
v2 ** Hardly a noticeable difference but I've put some lightning to the face.. still no idea what to do on the right half.. >_>;
v3 ** Yay or Nay?
v4 ** Also tried yellow..
v5 ** Removed vertical C4D and tried to improve flow even further //No eye glow
v6 ** Added white-ish glow to eyes.
v7 ** FINAL (probably)

Not too bad, but there needs to be more of a focal on the face. Use a lightsource of sorts. Like a new layer with a white soft brush, set to soft light on a very low opacity. Or filter > render > lighting effects and use the omni setting, but don't overdo it and make sure you do it on an applied image (all the layers in one layer, image > apply image) and mess with opacity. Also needs more colours and the right is very empty.

I can't seem to figure out a way to brighten up the face without losing much of the light from his sword/hilt, this is not possible or am I just doing it wrong
EDIT**
Figured out that I can use multiple light sources by dragging&dropping the lightbulb! Sweet!

I like v3 the best, compared to v4. Red gives the face more attention, yellow glow just looks off to me. However, I also find it a bit weird in the sense that your sig is more or less completely monochromatic then randomly has a bit of red thrown in. I guess it somewhat works, but I personally don't like it as much.
The vertical C4Ds on his arm throw the flow off a little bit, but otherwise you're off to a good start. :]

Yea, it dosent match the rest of the picture at all, if your going to do the glowing eyes thing, try white or a very tranparent black.

ps. would it be a killer to add text on that sig?

You can be a low novice, or a high intermediate etc/.
You're a solid novice.
EDIT:
Also by a fair few people I'm considered to be very good, and I got up to around high moderate/low intermediate before I sorta stopped.
And don't add text ever.

Hell, those are your first sigs? Mine always come out looking horrible. I just have no clue how you people add that lightning/rolling fog effect.
