title says it all. what DX does it work on and what else is required for it to work properly?

It's getting a bit outdated yes, perhaps ce 6.2 or 6.3 might have an updated one

currently it only works on direct3d 9, 8 and 7 games, and only those that don't use 'special' features

no idea, as far as popular games go, I think that is about as useful as implementing support for directx 6, but who knows, perhaps someday
