I was thinking of getting an external hard drive and putting all my steam stuff on there. Would I be able to take it to a friends house, plug it in and play the games or would there be any problems?

I think it's possible, but your steam installation has to be on there too. If it doesn't work, it's probably new registry keys that aren't being taken along.

Possibly, it would work. Possibly not.

The transfer rate might be too slow depending on the quality of it, you'd probably have to look into it a bit more.

Since the steam sales I have bought a ton of games for almost nothing and now I have no where to store them all.

I don't think they have 100gb's, but you may aswell get a 320-500gb anyway to use in the future.

Cool. I, myself would rather get a pocket one, but just plain external would probably be better for gaming.
