You think its going to be overpriced or good enough to destroy AMDs six core?
Price/performance doesn't look like its there..........

Is there a reason i7's are ending in odd ghz? Like the new one being .46? What happened to just ending it on a solid number (.30 .40 etc)?

Those numbers have to do with the speed of the front side bus.
266 mhz bus (Intel cpus with their weird numbers) + 0.5 multiplier increases = Cpus that have clock frequencies that go up in increments of 133 mhz.
200 mhz bus (AMD's cpus with their nice square numbers) + 0.5 multiplier increases = Cpus that have clock frequencies that go up in increments of 100 mhz.

at $300 it would be good, but 500+ is hardly sane.
i think if intel keeps it up, amd is going to end up in a good position.

Intel doesn't really need a hex-core to compete with AMD's 6-core Thubans. The i7 930 is only a bit slower than the 1090t. I imagine that these new processors would be for someone who doesn't want a full 980x. Still, Intel needs more price points in the $250-$400 sector where this processor should be priced at.
