Cheat Engine

Hi there. I'm relatively new to cheat engine (still at the find, freeze and speed hack level) and have a question.

I have Alpha Protocol. I've downloaded a couple of trainers (1 actually) that worked great. Than, I tried to use Cheat Engine to edit my money ingame. Cheat Engine crashed... don't stop, keep reading... I don't care that CE crashed. I experimented and attached a debugger (although I still don't know what that is)... Game crashed, whatever... but the next thing I know: my trainer stopped working. The same with any other trainer I used. No more trainers are working. I reinstalled the game... nothing. The trainers just don't work anymore. Not sure what I did, not even sure if it is CE or the dubugger, but the trainer options just won't activate any more...

Any help would be apreciated...

Make sure the trainers is made for the same game version you play. If they in a newer version of the game made such changes that CE and trainers would crash, then you want to hack the older versions.

I'm pretty sure it's the good version. It worked the first time! I haven't patched the game, just installed the same version... The only thing that change is me trying to attach a debugger

Reboot and everything ce might have done will be gone (it can't make permanent changes to anything)

also, it can be the game has an internal patcher that updates itself when a new version is out without telling you

Thanks, that's what I wanted to hear. So CE can't have done anything...
The problem must be elsewhere.
And about the patches, I doubt it auto-updated, as I have no internet on the PC I instaled Alpha Protocol... and I'm not even sure there actually is a patch for the game yet...

Still, I don't think I'll be playing AP without a trainer, since I'm obsessed with making all misions perfect and being godlike at least in my first playthrough.... Very Happy

But WTF can make my trainers stop running? I mean, they frist ran, why suddenly stopped, I haven't updated the god dammed game!

No... why? I did start my Kazpersky after not opening it for months...
What do you have in mind?

Anyhow, have you tried launching your trainer by righclicking it and then choosing "Run as administrator" ?

I'm running on Windows XP... I'm not sure I can even do that...
But I can't understand why the trainer worked at first and not anymore... I haven't done any major changes to my PC...

I'll try to run the trainer and game again, maybe a miracle occured...

I've used a trainer that was supposed to work for the 1.0 version (like all the others) and that could check the version. It said the version was not good. I reinstalled, checked again, the same thing happened. I don't have internet, how did the game update?

I'll try downloading another version. (I am curently using SKIDROW's)
