I've been having some problems with the game since yesterday.
-Texture packs make the game lag like crazy(It wasn't like this before)
-All maps being Generated are sandy pieces of shit. Not only that, but immediately upon spawning, most the islands seem to collapse downward because it's just sand and there are caves underneath, so the sand falls down.
-Animal spawn rate is acting up. I go into a cave/mine, and when I come back out, it's like a zoo outside.
What's wrong here? D:

what mods are you using, if any?
what texture pack are you using?
are you a pirate?
have you been tampering with the game files?
delete the bin folder and try again
if that doesn't work go to the support section of minecraft forum

-No mods (I deleted all of them just to see if there was a problem.

-I made a pirate ship out of sheer boredom in these crappy maps D
-Installing mods, but I delete everything right after if I don't like it and then redownload.
-I'm currently using a clean game, so that's done.

Edit; after reading some comments on that link, i think i'm using something outdated o.o, will see if it works with new update.

Yeah are you sure you're not using BiomeTerrainMod? Also, sand shouldn't even fall unless something causes it to update (like a torch or you breaking an adjacent block).

If there's nothing underneath it, sand will fall.
Since all the worlds being generated are sandy islands with the occasional mountain, most of the sand just tends to fall downwards into a ditch when there's a cave underneath it.

Not true, blocks don't update after they're generated. There are plenty of instances where there's sand overhangs. If you go towards them and break a sand block, place anything next to it, or place a torch by it, all the sand blocks will update and fall.

Sometimes, a few seconds after a map finishes generating, I see gravel falling from really high overhangs.
When you see it in the corner of your eye it's scary.

At night, farm animals go towards the light. As a kind of reffuge. I fucking hate this, especially the cows "MOOOOOOOOOOOOO" god damn it's so annoying. Especially when I'm trying to build my damn Minecart track! They go into my boosters and ruin them. They also take free rides across the un-finished track (funny as hell). I noticed that in new worlds, minerals are harder to find. I have to make a world like 5 times do get some decent resources. Notch made it harder to start out. Well I don't give a shit anyways, because I use Invedit (I don't play survival anymore, it's boring, I just build things  ).

1. There's a bug with animal spawns, he's working on fixing this.
2. He didn't change the map generation algorithm at all except for adding the new blue ink block. Everything else is the exact same. Only thing there's less of in the new map generations is smooth stone.
3. Animals get picked up by minecarts, they don't go into them willingly.

If what you guys say about sand is true, then there's a problem with my game.
I've spawned onto a newly generated world and I've seen a perfectly flat floor just sink down itself because it was made of sand.
(pretty much what Nirojan said, but on a bigger scale all around.)
o.o
Anyways, lag problem is fixed(for the most part)
Found a world that's pretty neat even though it has a lot of water/rivers.
