Ahhhh to be 18. When you're 18, you have these delusions about life, the greatest of which is "I'm going to be someone!" You pass by all the hairdressers and gas station attendants and executive assistants, and the cops and *everyone* with the assumption, "I'm better than they are, and I'll do something! The *rest* of those losers just didn't make it!"

Here's the point, and I say this to ALL 18 years olds just starting to realize that life isn't as great as they thought it would be.

The biggest lie ever taught to us is that "success" and "happiness" are related. Let's take our society's bigshots, lawyers and doctors. They get paid a *ton*, but all they do is work. They never have any time to spend the money they earned. They have a nice house, but they can't spend any time in it, they have a nice car, but they only take it one place. Now tack one what they actually spend their days doing. A high paid lawyer earns his living keeping the scum on the streets, making sure the fat cats can squeeze just a little bit more money out of the system, or worse. Highly paid doctors (by which I mean: not pediatricians or family doctors) spends their day watching people die, trying to fight against the inevitable, getting to know people, talking to them, finding out about them, just so they can die.

That's the 'good' life, that's what we're supposed to thrive for.

Fuck that.

You can find happiness in this world, but it's not with a big job. Maybe it's behind the grill station of a McDonald's, maybe it's with your family or friends (that's what I think most people discover), hell, maybe it's *here* amidst the trolls and the camwhores (and hey! it's Caturday!).

Very long story short: find your own way, it's out there.

Do what you love. Love what you do. But don't expect to make a living.

I'm going to be confined to my shitty jobs and living in a bachelor or a 2 bedroom with a room mate or something like that my entire life, I'm not good at anything. I suck at school, I have no talents, I'm thinking of joining the army, going to need to get in shape first though.

Edit: And you know what? I'm okay with how my future will go.

They are, I don't mind doing construction for 40 years making 25 dollars an hour. Better than being a lawyer or a doctor or what ever.

I want to join the army, Not because I want to settle though, Because i want to become a police officer and being in a branch of the military really prepares you for it. Its pretty much cop college.

I'd be joining the army so I don't have to pay for shit, join the army, live for free. If I die, oh well, if I don't, sweet.

That's also true, You literally have no expenses when you're in the army unless you have a family back home, I however don't think i will be having that problem.
