Subject: My Preorder Cancellation
I have already called gamestop to cancel my preorder when I found out
about the exclusive dlc. I find it a ridiculous ploy for money to take
content OUT of the game, and sell it back. |
Michael Lawder, Electronic Arts [email protected] wrote: | Subject: Regarding Battlefield 3 DLC
Greetings [name],
Thanks for contacting EA. Gamers like you drive and shape our craft, and we're listening. To that end, I'd like to take a minute and address a few points regarding the DLC packs available for Battlefield 3.
The Battlefield series inspires intense loyalty from its long-time fans, and we want to reward that enthusiasm by giving them something special for free. Anyone who pre-orders the limited edition of the game will receive both DLC packs: the Physical Warfare pack, and the Back to Karkand expansion.
Physical Warfare is a time-based exclusive; pre-order customers get it immediately as a thank you, and non pre-order customers will receive it for free later this year. The Back to Karkand expansion pack will be free to all those who've pre-ordered, and will also be available for purchase to non pre-order customers. Back to Karkand is scheduled for release to everyone this Winter.
Many gamers have expressed their concern that the items in the Physical Warfare pack will provide a gameplay advantage. We’re letting our most loyal fans get their hands on these items a little early so they can have more variety in their arsenal, but these items were specifically chosen to not be overpowered or game-breaking. We know how important a level playing field is and we have done our best to provide a balanced experience for all players.
We’ll be releasing more info about these promotions and others in the near future, so stay tuned. The latest information about Battlefield is always available on http://www.battlefield.com, and the DICE team have already published an updated post about this on http://blogs.battlefield.ea.com.
Lastly, and most importantly; thank you for your feedback. All of us at EA and DICE are excited to offer the best modern combat experience this October 25th, and we'll enhance and support it down the road with robust additional content. We hope you love playing the game as much as we've loved creating it.
Kind regards,
Michael Lawder

Why would you cancel a pre-order? It's the same price as the release...

They already put out a official statement about that a few days ago.
