I want to forward a port so i can download with bittorrent 6.4
I followed the exact steps from this page: http://portforward.com/english/routers/port_forwarding/ZyXEL/P-2602HW-D1A/Utorrent.htm

I do got a static ip address, so that's not the problem.

But my port is still not forwarded, anyone knows what to do?

You don't necessarily need to port forward to download, you know. It might be the fact that there are no seeders for your download.

uTorrent has a 'setup' thing that checks if your ports are forwarded.

But yurp everything depends on your router, and it's improbable that you can be helped by anyone with a very different router.

My router's steps(a linksys ethernet-only router): go to 198.162.1.1 (or whatever it is), go to port forwarding, put in the range(above 50000 is recommended for torrenting because there aren't reserved ports up that high, usually), check tcp/udp (or whatever LOL), then put in what local IP to go through for that (generally either a .100 or .101)

Then on my current router(2-wire from att, with ethernet and wireless): go to 'home' ( in your browser ), then securty/advanced, firewall settings, then add in the port range you want.

And of course remember to configure your torrent client to use the right port. (Didn't feel like reading through yet another page full of instructions on how to port forward. Best I've seen is a site with a massive load of different routers listed)

Sometimes I'm not as helpful as other times.

Well I figured it out but thanks anyway, i got a zyxel router, and i had to edit router's firewall too. Before i had this router i had a linksys, and it was much easier to forward a port on that router.
