I currently have one D-sub monitor hooked up to my computer. However, while between my video card and mobo I have three DVI ports, I only have one D-sub port, occupied my my single monitor. I want to hook up another monitor to my computer, but it too, is D-sub. There are no D-sub ports left! Can I just hook up my monitor to a DVI port? Heck, will a D-sub cable even fit into a DVI port?

No, a D-Sub won't fit into a DVI port.
You can however get an adapter to convert it
