I dont know if their is a section for this, but i recently got the dolphin emulator 2.0, and it plays Gamecube/wii roms. I torrented The Wind Waker for GC, and the files do not seem to work, but this has happened with another game, on a different emulator. The files are seen as;

Name: Type

s3-zldww System Information File
s3-zldww R00
s3-zldww.r01 R01
s3-zldww.r02 R02
s3-zldww.r03 R03

The numbers increase to 23 and then i have 2 other files

s3-zldww.rar RAR file
s3-zldww.svf sfv file

The rar file has a ISO file, and i know this is of important, but what are all the other files and the svf file? i think the torrent said something about it having junk in, thus why it were a bigger size. The s3-zldww files are all the same size 48,829kb, but the svf file is 1kb, and the R23 is 236kb.

I believe the .svf file is a check to make sure the .Rar extracts properly.

Open up s3-zldww.rar, extract whatever is inside it. .r00/01/02 and so forth are simply contents of the original archive split into multiple parts.

.sfv files: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Simple_file_verification

just extract the .rar, it will use the other files automatically

then either mount the .iso , let the emulator load it, or burn it to a disc

Where did you download it from? I thought the site gave you an installer. It runs good on medium end pcs. Takes tweaking for some games, but overall I can play it at 90% to full speed.

By "do not seem to work," I assume you mean that the sound does not work and it plays terribly slow. Currently, there are no good Wind Waker ROMs that have sound and aren't terribly optimized.

Try a PAL version, they generally run at lower frame rates (to the best of my understanding).

I'll get my WW disc and see if it runs for me. I had to tweak super mario sunshine to work at a playable speed too.

this doesn't so much have to do with the roms but rather gamecube emulation requires a pretty monstrous amount of CPU.

getting a game working may or may not be a hideous hackjob internally. emulation isn't a very pretty process.

Playing at a decent speed as you can see. 30fps would be perfect, 20+ is playable. Use the experimental compiler and use safe textures on normal. Even with aa and af at 8x it looks hazy. sound is 100%

link and the 2d looks sharp so i'm assuming the backbuffer is the proper resolution.

the blur is probably some kind of render target effect so it's probably a bug in the graphics plugin. see if there's any settings that let you mess with framebuffer effects. i haven't played with dolphin, but ps1 plugins used to expose that stuff.

But it works, so its better than nothing. This is an NTSCU disc. It does lag a bit more in longer looks so I don't know how bad it will lag while sailing. Depends on how far the game loads as I don't remember.

Other than that, ya, looks playable. If he cannot play it, its probably that his pc cannot push enough frames.
