They look great, but they lack proper lighting, in my eyes.

How do you do your lighting?

To the untrained eye they seem okay but in actual fact they're terrible. Stop smudging on 100, sharpening a lot and adding a gradient map/colour balance.

@ Sorrow: I'm not really familiar with GFX terms, so you'll have to explain to me what lighting means Embarassed

@konr: Smudging is my passion! Laughing
I sharpened for better quality of render and depth, but I kinda overdid it now I take a look at it. And I used gradient maps etc. for the last sig only.
But why are they all so terrible? It can't be just for those reasons. I'd just like to hear it to become better.

I really dislike the last one. try using a few different sizes and strength on your smudge brush, and try drawing on some areas with a soft brush on a and lowering opacity for lighting.

Eh, actually oversharpening can ruin things by... quite a bit.
I personally like where they're going, but they're a bit too flashy/sharp in parts.

You could also try being more subtle with the smudging, or giving it more direction as opposed to just having a field day around your focal.

EVERYONE MIGHT THINK THEY'RE PLEASING TO THE EYE, BUT ACTUALLY THEY'RE NOT
I sort of agree with konr, the more you look at them the less you like them. At a glance, they look pretty good, since there's lots going on in them (especially the 3rd). But then you study it closely for a few seconds, and it doesn't look to good (especially the 3rd)
