I'm using writeprocessmemory to write something to an address. I get back error 998, ERROR_NOACCESS. But if I go to that address in cheat engine I can change the data to anything I want. So its obviously possible. Anyone know how to do thin in my own program?

try using VirtualQueryEx , there are examples on how to use it, try searching

Use VirtualProtectEx() to protect the address to a constant thats writable, I suggest PAGE_EXECUTE_READWRITE.
