It's a sims game in which you have to go out and buy things from the store, raw materials only, and then CRAFT items you would normally use, such as televisions, toasters, etc, thus making them yours, so if I was playing I'd be CRAFTing things that are MINE, very simple.

Have you played Garry's Mod or Dwarf Fortress?

MineCraft has elements from both, and it's how I usually explain it to my friends.
