I'm looking to get a new desktop machine, mainly looking for an i7 with at least 6GB of DDR3. The graphics card doesn't matter as long as the board supports SLI, I've got a pair of GTX260 cards. I found this PC, heres the stuff I changed (rest is default):
Board: Asus P6T (not the SE)
Memory: 6GB (3x2GB) Crucial DDR3
HDD: 1000GB SATA-II
Total cost: £814.
Anyone know anywhere I can get a similar setup for cheaper?

I'm sticking the GTX260s in SLI, since I don't need top end performance for graphics. Only reason I have a need for anything more than a £50 card is for CUDA and playing CNC3/SC2 really.

| Difference is that he already has a pair of 260, so why get a card with similar capabilities?

The GTX 260 may be old, but it's part of the high-end while the HD5770 is new, it's consider as mid-range. 2x GTX260 in SLI will crush that puny HD5770.

A single GTX 260 will crush a HD5770 too.

It benches higher. Actually on 2560 x 1600 they are equal.

5770 on DX11 is a joke, unless you plan to crossfire which is just plain stupid even with the current 90% scaling.
Shouldn't OP off buying his parts at ebuyer, overclocker.net? i doubt a 500w psu can pull off 260 SLI

Should I opt for the 650W instead of the 500W?
