I was wondering is it possible to play my Xbox 360 on my laptop which has an hdmi port?
Like can I use it as a TV?
If so, can someone tell me how you can do this, thanks.

Well I got a monitor and I was wondering can I use this to plug my Xbox 360 to the monitor and play it straight off from there?

Do I need those and if I do, what can I get to get it to work for my monitor?

HDMI does carry sound. Also, there is always the sound dongle which should had came with the HDMI cord.

So your monitor has speakers? HDMI cables do sound as well, so it'l automatic. Otherwise:

And plug 3.5mm into headphone jack (there is one on the xbox itself, right?)

Ok, I assumed you had analog sound. Tell me what type of connection you have between your speakers and your computer.
