How do I cheat?

I am trying to find a pointer, but it seems that the suggested values lead to pointers that miss the correct address.
For example, if the known address is 0B98450A...
And the accessing codes are:

...The values of the pointer are shown as 03E80000 (first line only) and 0B97F320.
Applying either offset to addresses returned by 0B97F320 amounts to pointers that are off by 2. Addresses are not found if using values of 0B97F320-2 or 0B97F320+2.
I have probably missed something simple about all of this. I am feeling sleepy now. I will add something useful later if I forgot to.

if your not really to intent on learning how its really done and just want to get the pointer , then just use the pointer scanner .
and your doing it wrong , use the search to find a pointer tutorial.

| Do you mean a basic tutorial on finding pointers, or did you have something specific in mind? I do not remember if the tutorial steps covered this.

i hope this can fix in next release. i think sometimes pointer scanner is failed when moving or double clicking the right pointer to the address tables in cheat engine like for example in alien shooter revenge.it is also better to study the manual tutorial,right?

just like what he says try to find pointer using pointer scanner .also, it is easy to find pointer if you cannot find in what writes or what accessed.[/b]
