Well, can anybody provide me with a tutorial\example of patching a file? (as done in game-cracking, for example).

As the title says, I need it to be written for C++.

P.S - I am not going to crack a game\doing any other illegal stuff, I just want to learn the point of it.

1. allocate memory for file
2. read it into your buffer
3. change something in buffer
4. write buffer out
