I recently got a new computer, and I've installed Windows 7.
My friend was on Runescape helping their brother in law do a quest or
something, and I offered to help out, to be honest I don't mind the game.

I recovered my account and I then clicked play now. The following page tells
me that I don't have Java installed on this computer, so I go onto the Java website to install it and I do.
As I open the setup I get an error message saying Error 1723: "There is
a problem with this Windows Installer package. A DLL required for this
install to complete could not be run". Being foolish as I am, I even tried to uninstall Java which I managed
to get rid of one of the updates, but the newest one (Java 6 update 19) gives me that same 1723 error message.

I'm quite disappointed in myself for this to have happened, so I had done
some research and found out that the 1723 error message is basically, that
I have a dodgy Windows Installer 5.0. I tried looking on Google for another Windows Installer download but Windows 7 is only compatible with
5.0 and the problem with that is you cannot download Windows Installer 5.0 serparately from Windows 7, or so I'm told.

So apart from reformatting and things like that, what other options do I have?
Oh, and as you can tell - I'm not much of a computer wizz when it comes
to things, heh
