I don't think you can downgrade a DSi or even a DS.
Try downgrading the R4i's firmware, or upgrading it.

Aiken...
Part of Nintendo's DSi 1.4x firmware was to restrict the booting process of all flash carts... Mainly the R4i.
The team already annouced how they won't be able to make the next firmware fix this problem. The 1.4x firmware was cost a lot of people...
Trust me... Unless you can find a way to downgrade your DSi, your R4i is useless to you now.
They're release new flash carts though, that will work with the new firmware for the DSi.
If you need a new flash cart, I know which one to get... I've been with these things since it all started...

The M3i Zero F-Core or the Acekard 2i.
Why?
Its firmware is updated much more frequently than for the other flash carts.
All games and homebrew (that have been released so far) are compatible with these cards.
And mainly because they have every feature of any other card that's more expensive.
It should be cheap enough. Get them from DealExtreme. You aren't going to find these at a store.

It shouldn't be too expensive. Get them from DealExtreme. You aren't going to find these at a store. | So you can't just drive to a store, you have to order online?

Nope, and yes.
To be honest, there are stores out there. Small ones, definetly not public enough for a cop to see it as they drive by. But they are run by cheapskates who sell cards to the people that don't know any better. Their prices are usually 10 to 15 times higher than what they bought it for.
Definietly not worth it.

Yes, DealExtreme sells it for the cheapest price I find. I've been with enough gadget sites to know this is the one to stick with.
The R4i Gold is just another clone. Don't bother getting it. It won't work.

Maybe before you guys start to miss lead people you should do some searching first. check out gbatemp forums. they have teh most information on these things.

He has the original R4i (SDHC). It isn't compatible with the 1.4 firmware.
I think what you're using is the R4i RTS. And yes, they made a firmware for it last week. I don't recommend getting another R4 though. There are better flash carts in the market.
