I recently acquired some fresh, raw peanuts. How would I go about roasting these? I tried eating a raw one, but it tasted horrible. _________________

IDK, probably put them in a drum like container, use a hand crank to slowly rotate it (mechanical one if you got it) and don't forget the flame.

edit:
Another way is probably to use a Chinese wok and a spatula and use that to toss the peanuts around? _________________

For shelled peanuts, freeze them overnight and rub the skins off with your fingers before roasting. It's fine if some of the skins remain on. For peanuts in the shell, leave as is.
#
Step 2
Spread peanuts in a shallow layer on a cookie sheet.
#
Step 3
Roast in the oven at 350 degrees F for 15 to 20 minutes for shelled peanuts and 20 to 25 minutes for in-shell peanuts.
#
Step 4
Let peanuts cool on sheets, then season with salt.
