Just starting to use PS as it seems I can't request anything without a flame war right now. This is just a glow test. I tried to follow this tut, but didn't work too well.

I know the lines could be better, and they would be if I had a pad or something.

Use smaller pixel brush and lower transparency by just a bit.

...Yeah, that's probably not the best tutorial to follow. It's decent, I guess, but not really what you want.

You might want to look at this instead.

Looks like you didn't use the pen tool, and that tut Bisa posted looks great.


That's a different way to make the glow, using gaussian blur.
