Basically.
And if your karma becomes completely pure, your samsaric cycle ends. Then your atman is reunited with Brahman and you achieve eternal bliss.
In Buddhism, when your karma becomes completely pure, you reach nirvana and gain enlightenment and become a Buddha yourself or something.
I don't really believe in karma myself, but I do believe that if you treat somebody badly, they will dislike you for it and probably won't want to help you in your time of need. So I try to be as nice as possible.

I believe that karma will hit you in it's own way.
For example, if you have a conscience, after doing something bad, you will be so paranoid of karma, that you will end up inflicting whatever upon yourself.
