Changed value, but it changed back?

How do I cheat?

Ok, just so you know (if it isn't already obvious from my question), I am a noob to CheatEngine. I was playing OurWorld, an online Flash game. I could freeze values, but when I changed a value (for example I changed one from 22876 to 400000), it would say 400000 on CheatEngine (not on the game), but then it would change back to the original number. Is that just a cheat blocker, or am I doing something wrong?

You do something wrong. In your case I think you haven't found out the real address for that value. I mean the address which actually effects the value.

And how is it possible to solve the problem? Do the tutorial, it shows you how to solve different problems quite easily.
