|

I don't understand why I simply can't get a grip on pointers, I've been stuck for sometime now with making hacks because I have all knowledge I need but not using these damn pointers. Well I decided to try & give you as much information as possible and maybe you can help me out... Feels like if I could just get it to work once, it would be a big relief.
Target in this case is Postal 2 - Share the pain.
I began with bringing out my machine gun and start searching for the ammo values. Eventually I found the address. So first thing I did was trying to use "check what writes to this adress". That didn't work out well did it?
(edit: lol, apparently I cannot post images yet. However, the result was just the likely pointer was the same address as the ammo address).
So next I tried the pointerscan. I began with level 1 (I assume that means find base pointer direct without dealing with multiple pointers). That gave one result in Core.dll which seemed fishy and true enough, when I restarted Postal the pointer didn't work.
Next I tried level 2. Found more pointers this time, all in Core.dll and Engine.dll so I added a lot of them. Furthermore I tried using both "check what accesses/writes to this address" on all the pointers - the window just came up blank. I also tried pointerscan again on the pointers and added couple of the results just in case.
Restart, and all pointers directs to same address which unfortunately now has nothing to do with my ammo. I didn't gave up however and continued pointerscan with level 3 etc but same result all the time.
What am I doing wrong? In the unlikely case that anyone here would happen to have a copy of Postal 2, could you please help me out??

pointers are usually level 5 or higher
also, try a higher structsize.
alternatively, try code injection if all else fails

Ty, won't waste time searching for low leves then.
Well I'm gonna try a thing or two and will get back tomo if it still fails.
What struct size should I use, 2048*2? No idea it just seemed resonable.
