So instead of clicking on it, twice, I should click on a folder, click on the address bar, click on the words recycling bin, AND THEN CLICK EMPTY?

You just turned a 2 step process of emptying the bin into a 5 step process.

Click file you want to delete and press shift + del, click yes.
File is deleted and removed from recycle bin.
