|
|
Hi there,
When I'm scanning values, many times I do scans for values 'between' 2 numbers - e.g. between -3.14 and 3.14, yet cheat engine returns all numbers that are well outside these values but written in scientific notation (e.g. 2.1347584E08). These values are no good as they are clearly outside the range I've asked for, yet clutter the values list - can I prevent this in any way?
Thanks guys, keep up the fantastic work!

I think you're talking about 2.1347584E-08
the non-scientific notation of this would be 0.000000021347584
which does fall within your search parameters
perhaps I can add an exclude scan (not between) so you can then fill in -0.001 and 0.001 to filter out the useless results

Hi Dark Byte!
Firstly, thanks for the phenomenally quick response - right you are, I missed the '-' which indicates they are in fact very, very small values. I think an exclusion would be a fundamentally worthy addition, primarily as many values being scanned for (e.g. euler angles) tend to be calculated in such as way that they never actually result in such tiny numbers. The results list really does get swamped with thousands of these sometimes and almost every time when I finally find the value I was looking for it is one that never changes to be anything like as small as the values we are speaking about.
Is there any workaround you can recommend prior to this being possibly included in a future build?
Thanks again, its rapid responses like this that have made CheatEngine the brilliant bit of software it is today!

only workaround is that if you know it is a positive value, you can do a search for greater than 0.0001
but if you don't know if it's positive or negative, there's not much you can do to filter the list more
