How do I cheat?

I am new to hacking and was wondering how I could hack my ps2 game on my laptop. I already know of software to allow the game to play on my pc my question is:
1. Will the cheat engine work with a game on the PC.
2. Will need trainer program to cheat or will cheat engine be enough?

If you have any forum referals that will better assist me please let me know.

yes, ce will work on the game if it's running on your pc UNDER WINDOWS. Open the emulator with ce
just don't expect the options like "find what writes" to work as you expect( you'll have to take into account the base address of the emulated image and go from there)
