Well to start off, those of you who didnt know google is planning to release an open source OS! which is basically a web brouser >.> and supposedly boots insanly fast, but this eliminates photoshop and many other/all programs which are needed for download.

Well, you can do a lot of things (photo/video edit, play games (shitty ones), make presentations, etc.) online now, but I personally do have other uses on my computer than just the internet. I could care less about the starting time of my computer, in the ~30 extra seconds I wait in Windows 7, I could just use the starting-up time to get out my homework or get a glass of water or w/e. Or I can wait, doesn't really make a difference.

it would be really good for schools i guess.The whole nothing saves to your hard drive thing is dumb. Like if all your stuff is on the internet. If your internet is fucked up. Your computer is useless because it is a web browser.

The only thing that was shooting through my head while watching that video was "OMG ITS A MAC WITH THE LAST REMAINING SHRED OF CUSTOMIZATION GONE".

I mean seriously, customized hardware? Im a HUGE google fan, but that video really made it look bad. I think his target audience was macs.

I love my computer and it's ability to do whatever i want, how i want. If the new generation of technology is completely streamlined, what room for creativity is there?

The idea's good. It's a great option for a group of people.

I can think of some guys I know, that would love it. They only use their PC for the internet, and nothing else. I think it's nice that they're doing this. I'm never gonna use it myself, because I'm doing alot of other stuff on my pc aswell, but it's always good with some different things to choose from, right? :]

Wow, that's got to be the most useless operating system ever invented.
The only reason anyone would be dumb enough to use it is because it will most likely be mass marketed.

You obviously haven't done your research because google specifically stated that they have no intentions of letting anyone install this OS on a normal computer. They made this operating system just for netbooks.

I've tried it in a Virtual Machine. Was pretty slow and buggy but it looks like a good idea. I thought Google said that local copies of files would be kept on the device as well as on the Google servers.
