Hi, I am a first time user.
I have read the tutorial but i have stuck over here.
I have circle (red)
Is it put the 00002D8 (circle in red) to the search value (the 728 number) again? Do search again?



I cant type the 000002D8 there.

Then you need to go into the game and "do what you need to do" to cause it to find more instructions that access that one address.

Onces you do that, you double click on the new found instructions and go through the steps in find your pointer address.

Example:
If I were to do a jump hack (make me jump higher than ever), I would find the address that hold the value. Then I add that address to the list, find out what access it. When that dialog box pops up, I go into the game, and press the jump key to make my character jump. CE will pick this up. Go to CE, and I get a bunch of instructions added to the dialog box. I double click on one of them and use the steps I show you to get the pointer address. If no pointer found, I go to the next instruction and repeat the process.

Here are 2 pointer tutorials I just recently wrote up.

The first one actually shows why your method 'breaks' so much, then shows a better way to find pointers.

Both are so full of information, that you really don't need the game(s) involved to understand it. It may take a few readings of each though to fully grasp it.

Is anyone else having an issue understanding any of my pointer tutorials?

Is there something more I should be adding, or completely forgetting?

I suppose screenshots *could* help, but the tutorials are so long, that'd be a *shatload* of screenshots.

Hi zhoul,

your tutorial is fine. Just that something went wrong which didnt comes out in your tutorial.

I debug, then toggle breakpoint it here. (i have no idea why the registers and flags is red color on the left side)


I press f7 it jump down (the registers & flag changes)


I press f7 again, it jump down. The game got disconnect. Is it something went wrong? No modification?

Your game got disconnected, because your PC didn't respond to the game server, within a certain 'timeout' period.

I can't stand multi-player cheating, if it effects other players in a negative way... but...

Assembly doesn't change.. Just save the offset that you jumped to, in your mind, or whatever, load the game back up and go back to that offset and keep chuggin'.

Also, the disassembler will 'stay' where it was last left, so loading the game and opening the disassembler will open at the spot it returned to.

Good luck, and don't make anyone unhappy or else Teh Zhoul will be angry as well Twisted Evil
