so it just loads a default windows, and resets every time i turn off the computer. all my stuff (installed stuff is there) and i have a few things in my desktop, but all my folders and pictures are gone. is there any way to fix this
it says:
Windows cannot find the local profile and is logging you on with a temporary profile. Changes you make to this profile will be lost when you log off.

I had the same problem after being an idiot while installing windows 7. I just reformatted and reinstalled, having had my shit already backed up. Settings were royally fucked up beyond what even a repair install could fix.

I agree with Zarr. There is a theoretical solution to dump the settings to the default ones, but you wont gain anything from it. Backing up your files and reinstalling is the best option.
