L4D2 = L1D but with more crap.
I dislike shooting retards running at you. The game is good if you want to feel like you're actually good at something. Asides from that, it is also utter shit.

MW2 is the same as CoD4 except with better graphics, different guns, and a slightly different style. But that was exactly what 99% of people that were going to buy the game wanted, so that is what they were given.
L4D2 is actually really fun. I prefer the demo to L4D one.
BFBC2 looks like a lot of fun as well.

You've either never played L4D, or never played L4D2.
L4D2 has a completely different atmosphere, feel, and style to it. The gameplay mechanic is essentially the same, but why would you need to change that? It's a great mechanic. There are 2~3x as many guns as the original, plus the addition of ~10 melee weapons, and new shit like the adrenaline shot, defib unit, and bile bomb. 5 all new campaigns each with their own style (Dark Carnival; Dead Center - Mall; Hard Rain - Hurricane). New game modes such as realism, scavenge, and team vs/scavenge for people who play the game more seriously. 3 new special infected, and the addition of "Uncommon common infected", like the riot cop that you may have seen in the demo. They appear quite often in the level, and each uncommon infected is unique to a specific campaign (riot cops in Parish; Construction workers in Hard Rain; Mudmen in Swamp; CEDA workers in Dead Center; and the clowns in Dark Carnival). The game looks and feels wonderful, and blows the original (and really every other co-op game) out of the water. THe absolute best co-op experience you can get, and unless you are lacking friends is probably the best game you can buy right now. If I had to score it, I'd give it a 97/100.
