Waste of money IMO.
Research = what of it?
Everything you can do on the moon on a station you can do on earth.
Future life = not for the couple of decades.
We can barely control our own atmosphere, what are the chances of creating a hospitable environment even if it's an enclosed one? The expenses to send stuff from here to the moon over and over again would outweigh the benefits. Unless Earth becomes overpopulated and humans have miraculously not killed themselves yet within the next century or two, then the moon might be exploited to host some life. Even then, the cost would outweigh the benefits.

couple billion dollars i think? That's usually the case with ever major irrelevant research conducted by NASA.

they had to create drama by sending a couple of rockets to crash against the moon so that people could start to give a damn =0
But no, it's kind of recent i think.

Yeah, we hit a global reccession and we're spending money trying to find out things that don't fucking make a difference.
Yeah, good idea.
Just because there is water on the moon doesn't mean that it has ever supported life, or it could support life.
People are just so fuckng stupid these days.

They can't even do anything with the water yet, technology isn't advanced enough to take it back to earth.
We COULD, but we would waste so much money and gas on the trips back in fro there isn't even a point to it, we would just be wasting time trying to obtain what we already have enough of.

NASA knows a lot of more stuff about the moon, or mars, there just hiding it from the public. I think the mission was just a cover-up.

@Saroth, I don't think you get it. The point is not to bring water here, there would be no point to it, as you said. The point is to try to find ways to make the moon able to support life, so that people can live there.
It is a long work in progress.
@fafaffy, you're a conspiratorial idiot.

Pretty much the entire world is in an economic downturn, and their massive budget isn't really helping. I just think that, right now, they should have large decrease in how much money they're receiving at least until we have all our debt paid off.
